About Shohini Ghose:

Shohini Ghose is a leading quantum physicist and Professor of Physics and Computer Science at Wilfrid Laurier University and the CTO of Quantum Algorithms Institute. . Renowned for her research in quantum communication, teleportation, and chaos, she made groundbreaking observations of cesium atoms, highlighting the impact of chaos on quantum entanglement. Beyond her scientific achievements, Ghose is a dedicated advocate for gender equality in STEM. She founded the Laurier Centre for Women in Science (WinS) to support women in science through research, mentorship, and policy development.

Ghose has held significant roles, including President of the Canadian Association of Physicists (2019-2020) and NSERC Ontario Chair for Women in Science and Engineering (2020). Her work has earned her numerous accolades, such as induction into the Royal Society of Canada’s College of New Scholars and recognition as a TED Fellow and Senior TED Fellow.

Her book “Clues to the Cosmos” was released in India in 2019, further cementing her role as a leading science communicator. Ghose continues to inspire through her pioneering research and efforts to promote gender equity in science.
